For November 4, 2000:
Offensive: Steve Battle, 6-2, 187, Sophomore, Wide Receiver, Valley City State, Hometown: Cocoa FL
Battle caught nine passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns and also set four VCSU school records in the number eight Vikings 35-21 triumph over number three University of Mary.   Battle set school records for receiving yards in a game (234), receiving yards in a season (1097), touchdown receptions in a season (13) and points in a season (104).   He also had 53 yards in kick returns in the win.  Battle was also named the National NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.
Defensive: Danny King, 5-10, 182, Sophomore, Defensive Back, Valley City State, Home town: Klamath Falls, OR
King recorded two solo tackles, three assists, one fumble recovery, two interceptions and three pass break ups as the eighth ranked Vikings knocked off the number three ranked University of Mary.
 
For October 28, 2000:
Offensive: Casey Veenhoff, 6-3, 175, Senior, Quarterback, Huron University, Hometown: Huron, SD
Veenhoff accounted for 252 yards and two touchdowns in the Screaming Eagles 49-13 road victory over Dickinson State.  In the contest, he was 14 for 21 passing for 202 yards and a touchdown and rushed seven times for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Defensive: Josh Wahl, 5-10, 190, Junior, Defensive Back, Jamestown College, Hometown: Hankinson, ND
Wahl recorded ten solo tackles, recovered a fumble and intercepted a two passes in the Jimmies 32-29 win over Black Hills State.  He returned his first interception fourteen yards for a touchdown.
 
For October 21, 2000:
Offensive: Brock Nelson, 6-0, 175, Sophomore, Wide Receiver, Dickinson State, Hometown: Dickinson, ND
Nelson set a Dickinson State school record for touchdown receptions in a game and tied a school record for touchdowns scored in a game with four as the Blue Hawks snapped a three game losing skid with a 41-19 triumph over Minot State.   He ended the game with six receptions for 113 yards along with his four TD's.   Nelson's touchdown catches came from 21, 21, 14 and 11 yards.  Nelson was also named the National NAIA Offensive Player of the Week.
Defensive: Brent Miller, 5-11, 240, Junior, Defensive Lineman, Valley City State, Hometown: Fargo, ND
Miller had four solo tackles, five assists, three quarterback sacks and four tackles for a loss of 23 yards as Valley City State held Mayville State to 93 yards of total offense in the Vikings 45-3 win.
 
For October 14, 2000:
Offensive: Davin Leier, 6-3, 205, Junior, Quarterback, Jamestown College, Hometown: Esmond, ND
Leier accounted for 333 of the Jimmies 557 yards of offensive in their 56-43 setback to Huron University.  He was 14 of 29 passing for 250 yards, two touchdowns, one two-point conversion and no interceptions, plus rushed eight times for 83 yards and a two-point conversion.  The passing and total yards were career highs for Leier and his total yards were second on the all-time list for one game at Jamestown.
Defensive: Kyle Jellema, 6-0, 200, Senior, Defensive Back, Dakota State, Hometown: Brandon, SD
Jellema recorded six solo tackles, three assists, three passes broken up and an interception in the Trojans 24-19 triumph over South Dakota Tech.  He returned the interception for a touchdown.
 
For October 7, 2000:
Offensive: Jeremy Peschel, 6-0, 195, Junior, Quarterback, Valley City State, Hometown: Wahpeton, ND
Peschel set a Valley City State school record for touchdown passes in a game as he helped lead the #22 ranked Vikings to a 51-28 upset win over #6 Huron University.   Peschel hit 18 of 27 passes for 346 yards, five touchdowns and one interception.  His touchdown passes came from 35, 23, 55, 45 and five yards.
Defensive: Jeremy Auch, 6-0, 200, Senior, Defensive Back, Minot State, Hometown: Eureka, NV
Auch intercepted three passes and recovered a fumble in the Beavers 41-27 triumph over Dakota State.  He also had seven solo tackles, two assists and a quarterback sack.   Auch was also named the National NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
 
For September 30, 2000:
Offensive: A.J. Street, 6-1, 190, Senior, Wide Reciever, Hometown: San Leandro, CA
Street had six receptions for 156 yards and two touchdowns and also one rushing attempt for 40 yards in the number seven Marauders' 40-13 victory over number four Dickinson State.   Street's touchdown receptions were from 61 and 58 yards.
Defensive: Craig Geisler, 6-1, 260, Senior, Defensive Lineman, Hometown: Melville, Saskatchewan
Geisler had five solo tackles, two assists, two quarterback sacks and an interception in the Comets' 22-0 win over South Dakota Tech.  He also had a pass broken up and two quarterback pressures.
 
For September 23, 2000:
Offensive: Verna Owens, 6-0, 220, Senior, Running Back, University of Mary, Hometown: Modesto, CA
Owens scored three touchdowns in the Marauders 47-21 conference win over Mayville State.   He had 22 carries for 215 yards and two touchdowns and had one reception for 46 yards and a touchdown.  Owens also had one kick return for 41 yards.
Defensive: Joey Longoria, 6-3, 180, Sophomore, Defensive Back, Huron University, Hometown: Lewisville TX
Longoria intercepted three passes, returning one 50 yards for a touchdown, in the Screaming Eagles 32-9 win over South Dakota Tech.  He also had a solo tackle, two assists and one pass broken up.
 
For September 16, 2000:
Offensive:  Casey Veenhoff, 6-3, 175, Senior, Quarterback, Huron University, Hometown: Huron, SD
Veenhoff accounted for seven touchdowns and two 2-point PAT's in the Screaming Eagles 50-49 overtime upset victory over number three ranked University of Mary.  Veenhoff was 17 of 37 passing for 226 yards, 4 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.  He also rushed 15 times for 62 yards and 3 touchdowns.  He threw for a 2-point conversion in overtime to lift Huron to the win.
Defensive:  Josh Border, 6-0, 210, Senior Linebacker, Huron University, Hometown: Lewisville, TX
Border recorded 14 solo tackles, 2 assists, 1 quarterback sack and 5 tackles for a loss of 14 yards in Huron's 50-49 overtime win over number three ranked University of Mary.   Border was also named the National NAIA Defensive Player of the Week.
 
For September 9, 2000:
Offensive: Jared Peterreins, 6-1, 190, Senior, Wide Reciver, Dakota State, Hometown: Tracy, MN
Peterreins had ten receptions for 176 yards and two touchdowns in the Trojans 28-14 triumph over Jamestown College.  He also had ten yards rushing on one carry.
Defensive:  Derek Colling, 6-0, 205, Sophomore, Linebacker, South Dakota Tech, Hometown: Laramie, WY
Colling recorded six solo tackles and nine assists in the Hardrockers 21-16 loss to Dickinson State.  He had one sack for a four yard loss and added three tackles for a loss of eleven yards.
 
For September 2, 2000:
Offensive: Nick Wald, 6-1, 190, Junior, Quarterback, South Dakota Tech, Hometown: Rapid City, SD
Wald completed 27 of 51 passes for 373 yards, 1 touchdown and an interception in the Hardrockers season opening loss to Concordia, St. Paul
Defensive: Jeff Sarpy, 6-2, 215, Junior, Defensive Back, Mayville State, Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Sarpy had 2 interceptions, 1 solo tackle and 3 assists as the Comets opened the season with a 23-7 loss to Minnesota-Crookston.
